GRUMBLING GRYPHONS - TRAVELING CHILDREN'S THEATER has been delighting audiences nationally and internationally for 27 years.The Grumbling Gryphons have made an important impact on children throughout the world from NY's Lincoln Center to thousands of schools and theaters in the US and abroad.Every student becomes engaged in the creative process of theater, from improvisation to rehearsal to the culminating performance, in which the entire school takes part.The shows, appropriate for family and K-8 audiences, touch the hearts, minds and imaginations of children and adults alike.There are special performances and workshops for pre-school ages.

TRICKSTER TALES: NATIVE AMERICAN ANIMAL LEGENDS
was researched and developed with the support of the Institute for American Indian Studies in Washington, CT.It has been highly praised for its sensitivity to Native American life ways and keeps children spellbound with 3 humorous tales that use authentic reresentations of Plains Indian, Fox Indian, and Northwest Coast Native American cultures.

ANANSI - THE TRICKSTER SPIDER: A WEST AFRICAN FOLKTALE
is a musical adaptation of a traditional story from Ghana based on the famous folk tale of Anansi-the Trickster Spider. Through pre-performance workshops, children become village dancers, monkeys, elephants, hippos, bees, crocodiles and spiders and learn songs, chants and movements to perform in the show.

THE MYTH OF PERSEPHONE
In this show Lord Pluto steals Persephone away from the earth and her mother, Goddess Demeter, and holds her captive in Hades, guarded by Cerberus, the Three-Headed Dog.The children in the audience learn how the seasons came to be as they become the Greek chorus. They chant and sing to help rescue Persephone from the underworld.

THE GHOST NET: AN ENVIRONMENTAL MUSICAL OF THE SEA
has received rave reviews from both theatrical and environmental groups as children take a tour of the ocean with young Marina and a friendly dolphin to witness the effects that plastic trash, oil spills, garbage and drifting ghost nets have on the creatures of the sea.
